Forecasts    USMEF develops forecasts for U.S. exports of beef and  pork, based on demand in major export markets and the current U.S. competitive position. Forecasts include exports of muscle cuts plus variety meats and usually project export levels for at least five years. Statistics      This page contains year-to-date and historical export statistics for beef, pork, and lamb.  USDA releases year-to-date export data 45 days after the end of each month and USMEF provides updates accordingly.  Historical exports statistics include data from the last ten years.  Export statistics show the volume and value of
U.S. exports by country or region. A 10-year summary of the leading markets for U.S. beef and U.S. pork is also included.

HS Codes    The U.S. Census department uses numeric codes to categorize exports.  The codes, known as the "Harmonized" System (HS) codes, range from general categories at the 2-digit level (i.e. meat) to very specific at the 10-digit level (i.e. beef liver).  On a global basis, the codes are "harmonized at the 6-digit level. This allows data users to compare international trade statistics from different countries using the same 6-digit codes.  These documents list the HS codes used to categorize U.S. exports of beef and pork.
